“Russian Radio-Outlet” Wednesdays @ 9.30pm

Kirill Karpov was born in Moscow, Russia and since his early youth has been working in radio industry. As he himself describes the times when he started out, programs then were recorded on magnetic tapes and one needed 1 km of tape for the 45 minutes of airtime.

Then came Perestroika and lots of new interesting projects. Kirill worked as correspondent and live-show DJ on the leading russian youth radio. In the end of 90s he became a part of Nostalgie-France Moscow base. When News Corporation bought Nostalgie Russia in 2000 to create first russian alternative radio “Ultra 105,1 FM” Kirill added position of musical director to his  impressive resume. It meant more music, more involving with rock stars, more studio live shows, music festivals, and open-airs. Needless to say he faced new challenges and marked the end of boring and ordinary format.

Next step for Kirill was working as a program director and producer on adult contemporary radio «Silver Rain». It was time of big events - Olympic Games in Torino, World Cup in Germany and many more exciting experiences.

Throughout his career Kirill was involved in major special projects as co-producer of blockbuster animation feature «Nightmare Before Christmas» (russian version) and CD-compilation of ethnic music from all over former USSR transformed into modern remixes.
